Website evaluation

http:// www.edutopia.org/teacher-development-introduction

I recently had to search for a website that pertained to an area of improvement in my teaching experience. Above is the website I found which seemed very utilitarian in the information provided. The website is a website that began in 1991 by the George Lucas Foundation and includes many topics that relate to teaching professionals. This website was very interactive with readers because it allowed for questions and input to be added on a particular article. The topics also mentioned were updated topics that the education system is currently encountering. Video clips were incorporated and the use of various techniques made this website even more interesting. On the other hand, the negative aspect of this website included the overuse of links. When one link was clicked then several other links were given in some cases. This will disinterest individuals who don't have the attention span to continue searching. Another thing that was negative about the website was the advertisement that was allowed. The advertisement ad took away from the content because every time another section or link was clicked, the advertisement ad would start over and again distract the reader. When I rated this website, I did give it an A + for validity and having enough content to make it a reliable source.
To make it easier on viewers, a section for most popular topics was narrowed down and even those that were the most emailed by people. Overall the website was good and includes valuable information that could assist educators throughout the nation.
